Back on July 1st, I ran an article detailing the identities of several characters that would be appearing in Spider-Man: Homecoming, as well as the actors that would portray them. You can read that article here. The majority of that information was recently confirmed by this story from Entertainment Weekly.
One of the characters I reported on that wasn't mentioned in the EW article, was Herman Schultz, aka "The Shocker." He first appeared in The Amazing Spider-Man #46. He's a life-long criminal that uses specially designed gauntlets to powerfully blast compressed air. While EW didn't mention him, there was an interesting piece of information during the weekend that came from a Twitter user.
Twitter user Griffin Newman, @GriffLightning, detailed a conversation he had with the hosts of the Minimates toy panel at SDCC. The person he spoke to explained they're hoping to produce an entire line of Spider-Man: Homecoming toys including the three villains, which include the Vulture, the Tinkerer and guess who else? That's right, the Shocker. You can read that tweet and subsequent tweets here.
To my knowledge, outside of this (and my initial report), there's been no other evidence of the Shocker being in the film. Also, there were no other reports prior to mine on July 1st that declared the Shocker would be in the film.
The information I've learned has been proven accurate multiple times, and I'm confident this will be no different. If additional news surfaces, I'll bring it to you here at MarvelousRealm.com and on my Twitter page. Stay tuned.
